Aim and Scope

Aim:
ISLAMICA: Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Agama Islam aims to serve as a scholarly platform for the dissemination and development of Islamic studies that emphasize academic rigor, spiritual depth, and socio-cultural relevance. The journal seeks to promote research that bridges classical Islamic scholarship with contemporary issues through interdisciplinary, moderate, and contextual approaches.

Scope:
The journal welcomes original research articles, conceptual discussions, and critical reviews covering, but not limited to, the following areas:

1. Qur’anic and Tafsir Studies – methodologies, thematic interpretations, and contemporary exegesis.

2. Hadith and Sunnah Studies – isnad and matn criticism, methodologies, and the application of Hadith in modern contexts.

3. Islamic Jurisprudence (Fiqh) and Law – classical and modern Islamic law, maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah, and its relation to national legal systems.

4. Islamic Theology, Philosophy, and Mysticism – theological thought, ethics, and Islamic spirituality.

5. Islamic Education – management, curriculum development, and pedagogical innovations in Islamic education.

6. Islamic History and Civilization – historical developments, institutions, and socio-political dynamics of the Muslim world.

7. Sharia Economic Law and Islamic Economics – theories and practices of sharia economic law, fatwas on economic issues, Islamic financial institutions, and the development of an equitable and ethical Islamic economy.

8. Contemporary Islamic Thought – modernity, pluralism, gender, ecology, and interfaith dialogue.

9. Islamic Social and Cultural Studies – the interaction of Islam with local cultures, media, and multicultural societies.

The journal encourages contributions from scholars, researchers, and practitioners engaged in Islamic studies using critical, interdisciplinary, and contextual perspectives. All submissions undergo a double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality and originality.
